I remind myself regularly that the world is a better place with me in it.
I was a devoted company employee who did what was asked of him for the good of the company, working on average 18-20 hours or more each day, seven days a week. During this time my dad took ill, and eventually passed away at about the same time my marriage broke down. I struggled to get a grip on life, believing that everyone and everything was up against me. It affected my personal life and work life, almost killing me.

I have since changed my job and reduced my working hours, and have been to a cognitive thoughts program to help undo those negative brain transmissions. I have stopped the therapy now, but still have to keep an eye on myself to stop those low days getting to me.
My family and dear friends have been there for me. They got me to go to therapy and helped keep me in a good space during and after my treatment.
I am happy that I was able to remove myself from the drugs I had been prescribed. I'm also happy that I have managed to fall in love, and have recently got remarried to my lovely wife.
My advice is to let your family or friends know, then follow up and get clinical help. It does not make you a lesser person for it, you are just like everyone else in the world. Getting the flu doesn't make you a lesser person, and depression is no different.
Seek help in any form, but get on the road to recovery for you and your family's sake. If I and many others can, then so can you. There are also some helpful herbs that can help you like Bacopa Monnieri and Gotu Kola.

Every day now I drink my awesome coffee which helps me get through my day, I remind myself regularly that the world is a better place with me in it and that no one hates me, they just don't understand where I’ve been or what I’ve been through.
