I've had to recognize my limits and the things that trigger my depression and anxiety.

It wasn't until I graduated and was participating in a service mission for my church in a foreign country that my symptoms started to accelerate and expand. I started to hurt myself, and those around me recognized that I needed to speak with a doctor who then referred me to a psychologist. I was sent home and upon arriving I learned more about my condition and was then diagnosed.

I've had to consistently take medication as well as take time to speak to a therapist since my diagnosis. I've had to recognize my limits and the things that trigger my depression and anxiety. I consciously fight to control it or change my behavior, through exercise or food, for example.
My family has been a huge source of support, even if they do not fully understand depression. My mom, who has also been diagnosed with depression, has helped me so much.
